200 miles regatta in Altea

3.3.21, CH: Altea always serves as the start and also the finish for the “200 miles by two” sailboat regatta. An exciting and thrilling regatta that has been delighting the sporting community since 1987. Since the first start, more than 1000 enthusiastic sailors have already experienced the thrill of this regatta and embarked on the adventure. Only sailboats with a length of nine metres or more are allowed to take part in the 200 Miles for Two Regatta from Altea to Ibiza and back. The edition 2021 starts delayed because of COVID 19 at Friday 5. of March.


The classic regatta
The Altea sailing regatta is one of the most popular in the sporting community and regularly attracts professionals who have also taken part in the “America’s Cup” or the “Barcelona World Race”. The race, in which over 30 different boats take part, is organised by the Club Náutico de Altea.
Each boat may only be crewed by two people, which increases the difficulty of this regatta. The 200 miles from Altea to Ibiza and back require a lot of experience, sailing knowledge and practice, which is exactly what makes this regatta so special and attracts the many enthusiastic sailors. Here their skills are put to the test and only the best can go ashore as winners in Altea. Start and finish days are special events that offer a wonderful spectacle for all spectators.
